Carter Funkhouser, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University. He obtained a BA from Connecticut College, received his PhD from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and completed a NIH-funded T32 postdoctoral research fellowship in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Division in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University.

Dr. Funkhouser’s research has been funded by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and foundations such as the Klingenstein Third Generation Foundation, AIM Youth Mental Health, and the Saks Fifth Avenue Foundation. He is committed to involving young people and those with lived experience in the lab’s work.
